Vasyl Lomachenko is a Ukrainian professional boxer. He is currently a unified lightweight world champion, having held the WBA (Super), WBO, and Ring magazine titles since 2018, and previously the WBO featherweight and junior lightweight titles between 2014 and 2018.
Lomachenko holds several all-time records in boxing for winning major world championships in the fewest professional fights. He won a world title in his third fight (tied with Saensak Muangsurin), became a two-weight champion in his seventh fight, and a three-weight champion in his twelfth fight.
He has competed for a world title in all except one of his professional fights, namely his 2013 debut. Stylistically, Lomachenko is known for his exceptional hand speed, timing, accuracy, creativity, athleticism, and footwork. He is also one of the most successful amateur boxers of all time, possessing a record of 396 wins and 1 loss, with his only loss avenged twice.

Lomachenko was coached by his father Anatoly from a young age. He claims that if his father had not been a boxing coach he probably would have chosen to play ice hockey professionally. Featherweight
After winning his second Olympic gold medal, Lomachenko made the decision to turn professional. After meeting with several fight promoters, he signed a contract to fight for Top Rank.
Lomachenko made his professional debut in the United States on 12 October 2013 as part of the undercard to Timothy Bradley vs. Juan Manuel Márquez, defeating Mexican fighter José Ramirez with a fourth-round knockout.
