He was best known for his roles in Bachelor Father, Charlie’s Angels, and Dynasty, and received two Golden Globe Awards for his work inDynasty. He was also known for hosting World of Survival between 1971 and 1977.
He became active in the entertainment industry in 1943 and attended Abraham Lincoln High School as well as the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. When he was eighteen years old he worked as an announcer for the Brooklyn Dodgers at Ebbets Field. Forsythe was married to Parker McCormick and had one son named Dall. They divorced in 1943. He was eventually drafted and sent off to fight in World War II. Upon his return, Forsythe joined the Actors Studio and met Marlon Brando and Julie Harris. His bout with the Actors Studio led him to perform in the Broadway productions Mister Roberts and The Teahouse of the August Moon. Following Broadway, Forsythe was cast in the 1955 Alfred Hitchcock film The Trouble With Harry. Forsythe was also married to Julie Warren from 1943 until her death in 1994 as a result of a coma. Forsythe made the executive decision to take her off life support. He later married Nicole Carter in 2002 and were married until his death on April 1, 2010 due to pneumonia. Forsythe died in Santa Ynez, California at 92 years old. He is survived by his three children by the names of Page Warren Forsythe, Brooke Warren Forsythe, and Dall McCormick Forsythe.
