Oh, Harry Styles‘ long hair — we missed you! The former One Direction member’s shoulder-length tresses are back in action for his latest magazine shoot, which also happens to be his first since the group’s split.
The British crooner, 22, is the star of three separate AnOther Man covers, one of which features Styles rocking his signature brunet locks in waves, parted in the center. He’s also modeling a military-inspired jacket and a solemn expression.
Of course, the luxurious length is simply the product of a wig, as his hair is shorn for the other two covers, which are clearly Mick Jagger–inspired. With the short, choppy ‘dos (one buzzed, one more of a bowl cut) and ’70s-inspired threads, the heartthrob has never looked more like the Rolling Stones’ frontman.
Styles, who’s famously courted both Taylor Swift and Kendall Jenner, cut his hair in May. He revealed the chop via Instagram with a snap featuring his snipped ponytail and the caption, “Whoops. #Littleprincesstrust.” (The Little Princess Trust is a U.K.–based charity that provides wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment and other diseases.)
The X Factor alum, who’s dipping a toe into moviemaking with Christopher Nolan‘s Dunkirk, hinted that the cut was coming. When James Corden asked him during an August 2015 episode, “When’s [the hair-growing] going to stop? What style is the next Styles?” the “Perfect” singer responded by pointing to his chest. His goal, he admitted, was to grow the 9 inches required to be able to donate.
